Literary Outlaw is a modern pulp fiction magazine featuring both original fiction as well as classic stories and comics from the public domain.
In The Book Of The Grotesque, the opening story in Sherwood Anderson's Winesburg, Ohio cycle of short stories, we are introduced to a nameless old writer who dreams of the "grotesques" living in his hometown. Personal Recollections of Joan of Arc by Mark Twain is a fictionalized account of the life and death of Joan d'Arc, as told by her page, Sieur Louis de Conte. Twain said of this often overlooked work: "I like Joan of Arc best of all my books, and it is the best; I know it perfectly well. And besides, it furnished me seven times the pleasure afforded me by any of the others; twelve years of preparation, and two years of writing. The others needed no preparation and got none."In Legendarium II: The Wrath of Bob by Michael Bunker and Kevin G. Summers, a pair of authors are transported to a magical library at the nexus where all stories intersect. Together they travel through various works of literature that are under attack by faceless shadow demons. Failure is not an option, because any story that is destroyed in the Legendarium has catastrophic effects in the real world.
This issue includes classic stories by Arthur Machen, Gardner Fox, Hergé, a serialized novel by Booth Tarkington, and 40+ pages of uncanny comics!
