In the wild frontier, vengeance is the only law—until Kane must fight for more than just himself.
In the brutal, lawless expanse of North Texas, 1880s, Kane is a lethal bounty hunter with a need for revenge. He applies his own brand of justice with a constant cold anger. But when he comes across a small town called Tornhowl, he finds himself torn between leaving to continue his hunt and staying to help James and Caroline.
James has lost his family to a gang led by the ruthless killer "El Pistolero". Kane knows that the boy who survived the massacre is the only one who can identify these killers and bring their leader to justice. But with the gang still terrorizing the ranchers, Kane must ensure the boy's safety until he can testify.
As Kane tries to protect the boy, he becomes embroiled in a plot to buy up land in the region for a mysterious backer. El Pistolero is the man in charge, and he'll stop at nothing to achieve his goals. Kane must use all his skills to outwit the gang and make sure justice is served.
But as the stakes get higher, Kane realizes he's in deeper than he thought. He must decide whether to continue his hunt for revenge or stay and fight for the people of Tornhowl. With danger lurking around every corner, Kane's survival is far from certain.
Will he be able to take down El Pistolero and bring peace to the people of Tornhowl?

Reviews of the first book in the series:
★★★★★ Thoroughly enjoyable western tale
I really enjoyed this well written western story. You really made the characters come to life. I hope to read the next book as the storyline continues and find out out how Kane stops the bad man behind the killings. Justice must be served!
★★★★★ Great Story
I love stories that keep you in suspense, anticipating the next move. Dawn of Retribution was one of those stories. Once I started it, it was hard to put down. Kane's protection of James after he rescued him was very heartwarming. He had a lot of patience, compassion and empathy. One would think that he and James were related and not complete strangers. P. J. Stone's story was so vivid, it was like I was there watching everything unfold. I love the writing style and I cannot wait for the next one. I will definitely recommend this book to everyone even if you are not western fans. This book needs to be read so go ahead and purchase it.
