Sinopsis

1st of May, 1922, Lady Wally Carrington and Lady Willie Dorchester, two aristocratic British women of a certain age, bored with their daily routine, decide to investigate the drowning death of one of their own. Aided by Wally's cousin, Posthumous and his "valet", they set out on a madcap attempt at solving the mystery. Along the way, they encounter jewel thieves, murderers and mayhem. At the same time, they are trying to move through the effects of the American jazz age on their Victorian sensibilities, masquerade balls, love affairs, aristocratic snobbery and ethnic perils. In this, their first attempt at sleuthing, the ladies discover not all that glitters is golden.
