Smart city infrastructure and technologies make urban areas more efficient, sustainable, and livable, but their development comes with significant challenges. A major challenge is the integration of diverse systems and legacy infrastructure, which often requires investment and careful planning. Data privacy and cybersecurity are also concerns, as smart technologies rely heavily on the collection and analysis of large amounts of information. Ensuring equitable access to smart city benefits is also necessary to address the digital divide across socioeconomic groups. As cities evolve, balancing technological innovation with inclusivity, resilience, and ethical governance will reveal the full potential of smart urban environments. Challenges for Smart City Infrastructure, Technologies, and Their Future explores the rapidly evolving domain of smart cities, covering the critical technologies, practical applications, key challenges, and future outlooks. It delves into the technological foundations that enable smart city initiatives, highlights innovative applications transforming urban life, and addresses the complex challenges that cities face in becoming smarter and more connected. It offers insights into emerging trends and future predictions, providing a roadmap for the continued evolution of smart cities. This book covers topics such as logistics, data security, and sustainable development, and is a useful resource for business owners, civil engineers, academicians, researchers, and computer scientists.
