When a Livestream investigation inside the historic Indiana Theatre ends in screams and sudden silence, a group of college students vanish without a trace. Their final broadcast- 12 minutes of distorted audio and frantic whispering- becomes the centerpiece of a chilling cold case that the city of Terre Haute refuses to forget. A year later, new evidence surfaces: forgotten tunnels, abandoned radio frequencies, and a trail of digital forensics that should not exist. As investigators reconstruct the students' last moments, the case begins to unravel into a tale far older and far darker than anyone anticipated.
The Town That Echoes blends real Terre Haute history, atmospheric horror, and psychological dread into a haunting investigation of what lingers in the spaces beneath us. Inspired by the author's experiences with her old paranormal team, this novel blurs the line between documentation and nightmare, inviting readers to step into a story where every echo might be a voice of the past reaching out.
For fans of found documents, urban legends, and slow-building supernatural terror, this is a story that asks a single question:
What if the evidence itself is alive?

Stevie Rector is an Indiana-based author whose work weaves local folklore, psychological tension, and mythic horror into atmospheric, character-driven stories. Drawing from her background in paranormal investigation and her previous work as a correctional officer, as well as her deep connection to Terre Haute's historic landmarks, she blends real-world hauntings with dark fiction to create immersive, unsettling narratives. Rector is the Author of The Anja Trilogy and Loki's Lost Memory. When she isn't writing she can be found exploring forgotten places, raising her three children, and turning the strage corners of everyday life into stories that echo long after the last page.
