Sinopsis

Newly widowed, Ellie Franklyn isn't sure what she is going to do next. But a quick trip to run errands turned into a life-changing direction when she accepted a job working part-time as a copy editor for her small town's weekly newspaper, the Creek wood Courier. Getting to know the other editorial members was just the start of an adventure that really fired up when an arsonist lit up two historic barns outside of town.

Caught up in the excitement, Ellie starts writing features for the paper and becomes deeply involved in the arson investigation. At the same time, the original editor is replaced by his big city editor Noel Hathaway, who sweeps in and takes over the newspaper with ideas of his own, including an unexpected interest in Ellie. And when the ghost of one of Creek wood's residents steps in to help, Ellie has more than her hands full.

A kidnapped teen who might know who the arsonist is ignites a frantic search that culminates in a fiery confrontation between Ellie and a killer intent on getting away with his crimes.
