In Thoughts from the Shelf of an Outsider (German edition: Gedanken aus dem Regal eines Außenseiters), we encounter Jon Cabanski's characteristic engagement with the stupidity and narrow-mindedness of people, their hypocrisy, and the meaninglessness of their everyday lives. However, Thoughts from the Shelf of an Outsider is not a guidebook. J. Cabanski is far from wanting to preach to others. Instead, his sensitivity and keen powers of observation reveal things we know all too well but have long lost sight of.

The word "P(r)oem" comes from the author himself and refers to both a prose poem and short prose pieces in poetic form.
