The Collected Works of Stalin Volume 6 marks an important milestone in the journey of the early Soviet Union-the year 1924, starting with the tragic, untimely death of Lenin, at whose funeral Stalin was a pallbearer.

The writings and speeches of this first year of Stalin's first year of leadership post-Lenin continue to chart the multifaceted issues which are involved in any project of socialist construction: international topics, the relationship between urban and rural populations, the internal workings of the party, questions of (re)education, and many more, are touched upon.
