Sinopsis

Roger Harris was one of countless children stolen from their homes and delivered to the Academy, a military institution. As a young child, he was trained to be the perfect soldier of the Republic. Outside the Republic's fortified cities, riots burn daily. Fear and unrest drove the government to create a new kind of soldier: augmented fighters enhanced with biomechanical upgrades. These synths embraced their engineered superiority, shedding the limits of mortality and claiming dominance over ordinary humans.

Roger never had that option. As a member of the Republic's special tasks squads, he was forbidden to be augmented. His value lay in his humanity, his ability to blend in, to infiltrate, and to disappear among rebels who would see synth soldiers coming a mile away.

But when a mission forces Roger back into the world he was taken from, his sense of right and wrong begins to shift, along with the truth about the Republic he has served without question. Everything he has been taught, everything he has been, starts to unravel.

For the first time in his life, Roger faces a choice.
