Sinopsis

Friday night in Cape Town.

The wife of the Minister of Justice, Hope Shaba, is alone at home. Her eagerly awaited sniff of nose candy is interrupted by a nemesis from the past. Recognizing her killer, she knows there will be no mercy and that she is only the first on a long kill list
Hope Shaba’s life ends in excruciating pain.
Detective Barend Jaspers, three months from early retirement, and his replacement Anna Meerhof are ordered to solve the Shaba murder quickly without any political fallout.
Both detectives haunted by a questionable past, start off in an acrimonious mood that constantly threatens to undermine their professionalism. However, the autopsy results present them with a suspect who goes on the run only to find death under a 22-wheeler.
The case is closed but both detectives know it was all too easy, too convenient.
The inconsistencies of the Shaba murder force the detectives to face their distrust and personal secrets head-on as they are caught up in a killing frenzy of high-profile officials, drugs, corruption and abduction.
