Welcome to the twelfth book in the epic Visigothic Saga Book Series. Following the defeat and downfall of the Goblin Kingdom, Sigurd and his people soon realize that their nemesis of the past, the sorcerer Adawulf Hister Hister Carpathia has come out of hiding in Myrkvidr in one last bid at ultimate power. To this end he has summoned the last of his allies for one final showdown with the armies of King Sigurd. Hordes of Morag Ogres under King Gorkan-Mar are marching to join their dark master in the forbidding fortress called Castle Kol Oba. Gargoyles are assembling there with the Gnomes of Myrkheim and remnants of tattered Goblin Mercenary armies! The Skythians and Kimmerians have joined him for one last fight, and the fate of Midgard hangs in the balance. Yet there is a menacé far worse than anything Hister can offer. The plague has started in the east and is working its way west like the scythe of the Grim Reaper. But in the midst of it all, young Prince Ronan is coming into his own and rising to the challenges that will ultimately prepare him to be the king that he was born to be. This is a story of love, redemption and justice and the triumph of love over hate amid a world torn asunder by famine, war, disease, hunger and climate change in a world sitting on a knife's edge. It is a story of restoration against impossible odds with many unlikely heroes.
