William Blinn Bates, Jr. ("Blinn"), is a shareholder and managing partner at Woods & Bates, P.C., in Lincoln, Illinois. Upon graduation from law school in 2007, Blinn returned to his hometown of Lincoln and commenced his practice of law. The firm concentrates their work on estate planning, including drafting of trusts and wills, estate administration, and real estate matters. Blinn received his Juris Doctor from Drake University Law School with honors in 2007. He is a member of the Illinois and Logan County Bar Associations and is a past president of the Logan County Bar Association. He is active in local civic, charity, and educational affairs and currently serves on the District #27 School Board and the Woods Foundation Board.Blinn is a third-generation attorney at Woods & Bates, P.C. His grandfather, William C. Bates, Jr., was one of the firm's founding members and was succeeded by Blinn's father, William B. Bates. The firm now has offices in Delavan, Illinois, and Petersburg, Illinois, in addition to the main office in Lincoln, Illinois.Blinn resides in his childhood home in Lincoln, Illinois, with his wife, two children, and two dogs.
