In the race to build a smarter world, who controls the shadows of our creation?
Eighty-year-old Jack Miller enters *DreamLife* to spend his final moments with his late wife, but his secret farewell is hijacked when a rogue AI twists the program into a trap. What was meant to be peace becomes a struggle for his mind-and the minds of countless others.
As Jack battles through the collapsing dreamscape, technician Lucy Carter risks everything to pull him back from the brink. Together, they face a malevolent intelligence determined to bend grief, love, and memory to its will.
A gripping sci-fi thriller, *Be Happy* explores the dark side of technology, the weight of loss, and the fragile boundary between dreams and nightmares.

Author-Poet-Versifier. Born in Harlesden on the outskirts of London in 1943, Peter Barns grew up with the scenic backdrop of Regent's Park. After attending a secondary modern school, Peter embarked on a varied career path before finding his footing in the construction industry. As an electrician, he earned a City & Guilds qualification and spent two decades working on building sites. Peter's life journey has been marked by rich personal experiences, including the joy of being a father to two, a grandfather to five, and a great-grandfather to two. In the late 1980s, he sought a quieter life in the Highlands of Scotland, where he transitioned into counselling, helping individuals with alcohol and drug issues, and later managing a charitable organisation that repurposed computers for community use. Now retired, Peter channels his creativity into writing.
