I was not on the hill last night. Somehow, I was somewhere else. Somewhere so enchanting it made the hill I woke up on seem less real than my dream. Avery Smith is an imaginative girl who likes to let her mind wander. She longs to return to the mystical place she visited on Midsummer’s Eve. But the only one that could help her find it again is her new friend Bobby. No one knows who he really is though and Bobby can’t remember his past. Sheela loses her job as a secretary only to discover she is a witch. She is attracted to Bobby and is curious to learn more about this mysterious youth who seems more comfortable with enchanted places than with his own heart. But what has his enchanted place got to do with Avery Smith? Or with secrets. Destiny. Danger.

Acerca del autor

Gary Miles is the author of Where the Mind Wanders and Far Away Powers. He lives in a North Somerset village where he reads poetry at a local open mic night and swims in the Marine Lake at Clevedon.

Gary has wanted to be a writer since reading the Lord of the Rings as a young boy. Being partially sighed made childhood more challenging for Gary so books were important to him as they allowed him to escape into his own private universe.

At the beginning of the 90s, he moved to Hemel Hempstead where he was asked to write a play for the Boxmoor Arts Centre for Young People. The play contained ideas that he used later in his debut fantasy novella Where the Mind Wanders.
