Sinopsis

On Columbus Day Weekend 2017, Michael Diaz had a kayak accident in the Long Island Sound that resulted with his treading water for the next 17 1⁄2 hours through night, an approaching storm, and drifting some 10 miles between Long Island and Connecticut. The next morning, he climbed up to the ladder of the Green Ledge Lighthouse off Norwalk and signaled to a nearby fishing boat to call for help.
People who learn of this story often ask:
How did he get through that night? With time to reflect, Michael found his answer: He was not alone. He was fortunate to have an abundance of successful friends, mentors, and influencers that helped shape a mindset about having a vision and not getting discouraged or distracted and maintaining a consistent and laser-focused pursuit of that vision.
