The Everdark Saga Book 2: Seeking Protection - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

The Empire continues to be consumed by war in the north as city after city falls to Obleth. While the realm cries out for action, Emperor Dain does nothing. Instead, his anger festers within the palace walls, where intrigue, betrayal, and fear threaten to tear the Empire apart from within as he uses the fanatic military of the order of the goblet to control everything.

As events in the court spiral out of control, everything changes for Alice.

For the first time in her life, she is truly alone. Separated from her allies and closest friends, she is left to endure the cruelty of her father and those who would see her broken. With nowhere else to turn, Alice places her faith in an ancient dwarven tome, its pages hiding secrets that may offer the protection she desperately seeks.

Within its finely crafted runes and forgotten script lies the tragic history of the dwarven people and the path to the lost cities and ruined strongholds of the Everdark.

As she studies the pages and continues down the path of discovery she learns the crippling and horrific truth that when the gods left the world,

they did not leave everything behind.

Far beneath the mountains deep in the earth, something ancient stirs in the darkness, waiting to be found in the lost kingdoms of the Dwarves. As old secrets awaken and shadows rise, Alice may discover a power capable of changing not only her destiny but the Destiny of everyone alive.

In book 2 seeking protection Alice La Renuelle makes her first move in a bid to maneuver around those forces seeking to oppose her.
