Bits to Use at Work: 750 Ways to Get Noticed for the Wrong Reasons - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

Work has a meeting for everything. This book has a bit for almost all of it.

On an office tour, reserve your biggest reaction for the fire extinguisher and whisper, “Hope we never need it.” When a new employee arrives, offer them a pen with both hands and say, “This got me through Q2.” Ordinary moments are full of opportunities to behave as though something slightly more interesting is happening.

Bits to Use at Work turns 150 familiar workplace situations into 750 short comic bits, with five bits for each scenario. Each pairs a line or small action with a quick explanation of why it works. Find bits for the first day, onboarding, meetings, video calls, work lunches, water-cooler chats, performance reviews, asking for a raise, getting promoted, and being called into HR.

Some bits take one sentence. Others call for a pause, a whisper, or the confidence to ask a chair if it has any questions. Use one to amuse your colleagues, lightly annoy them, impress a manager, or leave a job with theatrical dignity. You don’t need a stage, a costume, or a company-wide email—just the right moment and a straight face.

For anyone who has ever said “quick question” and watched a calendar invite appear, this is a pocket-sized source of workplace mischief.

Choose a situation, pick a bit, and take a little comic mischief into your next workday.
