Banks explained home loans in approximately nine hundred pages of fine print, of which eight hundred and ninety-seven appeared specifically designed to ensure that we understood nothing.
But somewhere between our first salary, first serious relationship, first child, ageing parents, EMIs, career ambitions and rising cholesterol, somebody forgot to hand us the operating manual.
Marriage comes without an SLA. Parenting has no user guide. Parents do not retire according to an HR policy. Friends do not send resignation letters before gradually disappearing from our lives. Children grow up without requesting change approval. And emotions, inconveniently, refuse to fit into Excel.
