Astral Worship: Exploring the Origins and Evolution of Astral Worship: 1 - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

"Astral Worship" by J.H. Hill delves into the ancient practice of worshipping celestial bodies, particularly the sun, and its profound influence on religious doctrines and rituals. Hill argues that many elements of modern religious practices, especially within Christianity, have roots in ancient astrological beliefs. The text explores the geocentric system of nature, which ancient astronomers used to construct a framework for understanding the universe. This system included the Earth, firmament, planets, constellations, and the Zodiac. Hill discusses the sacred numbers seven and twelve, which were significant in astrological traditions and influenced various religious symbols and cycles. The book also examines the concept of the 12,000-year cycle, which was believed to culminate in a cosmic renewal. Central to Hill's thesis is the idea that the ancient triad of deities-Father, Word, and Holy Ghost-parallels the Christian Trinity. The text further explores the personification of the sun as God Sol, who embodies both good and evil, and the allegorical narratives of the fall and redemption of man. Hill suggests that the incarnations of God Sol, celebrated through various festivals and rituals, were precursors to the Christian narrative of Jesus Christ. The book concludes by tracing the evolution of these ancient beliefs through history, highlighting their persistence in modern religious practices.
