African Drums: percussion-ensemble (4 player). Partition et parties.

Sinopsis

African Drums is a composition following the African drum music tradition in as far as the typical African groove feeling and the 12/8 rhythm - unusual for Europeans - is concerned. It does not, however, claim to imitate original African music. Provided the players are familiar with African rhythms, this piece is not difficult. It is a must for the different parts to be played together in the same groove and pace in order to reflect the pushing pulse of the music. Djembe, Talking Drum and Caxixi are being used in the original but can be replaced by Congas, Bongos and Shaker. Instrumentation: percussion-ensemble (4 player)
