Sinopsis

The fiddle primer is not a violin tutor but is meant to supplement violin instruction. It is intended for beginners aged 8 - 12 but could also be used for younger pupils. Numerous photos and exercises introduce and exemplify fingering and positioning of the hand. Apart from strengthening the fingers and training their independency from one another, horizontal agility and its systematic training is another central subject. By giving a variety of combinations for finger exercises, concentration and "finger memory" are being fostered. Finger exercises with alternating sequences of notes and additional training material together with rhythmic variations broaden the skills already acquired. In order to break the monotony, it is interspersed with comics showing everyday situations from a pupil's ordinary day - which is not always funny. The pictures can be coloured in.
