The Comprehensive Guide to Modern Standard Arabic, written by co-founder Mohammad K. Ayaseh, is unique to other textbooks in that it focuses less on grammar and more on speaking with the aim of teaching students to be able to confidently communicate in various professional environments.The Comprehensive Guide to Modern Standard Arabic is culmination of my experience teaching MSA and Levantine Arabic to hundreds of students from all around the world. It is the result of my efforts to cover the essential linguistic needs of Arabic language students and for them to build a strong base in the Modern standard Arabic dialect. The essential goal when creating this book was to simplify and solidify the way language instruction is provided to non-native speakers. Therefore, this book utilizes a technique that we use here at Deewan Institute called “The Ladder of Words.” Each lesson builds on vocabulary and structures from the previous lessons. Not only do students build familiarity with the words, but also progressively become aware of the patterns and structures in the Arabic language as they practice reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills.
