Container Architecture

Sinopsis

Container architecture is a young branch of architecture. The common denominator is always the same (the standard ISO container), but the resulting projects are both extremely varied and of high quality, with regards to their underlying concepts as well as outlook. The ISO container, a companion of globalisation, is a cosmopolitan building block, which makes container architecture at home all around the world. After an overview of the container system and the historical circumstances that resulted in this type of architecture, this book gives 45 projects, constructed from as many as 6441 containers. They are grouped into three chapters according to function; Housing, Public Buildings and Conceptual Projects.
