This illustrated volume, written in both English and Arabic, tells the story of the Sphinx from ancient times to the present, focusing particularly on the task - first addressed in the second millennium B.C. - of preserving it. Published to mark the completion of a major modern restoration project, this book is a testimony not only to the skills of the people who built the Sphinx, but also to those who have maintained and renewed it through the ages.
Biografía del autor
Zahi Hawass is director general of the Giza Pyramids. H.E. Farouk Hosni is Egypt's minister of culture. Gaballa Ali Gaballa is general secretary of the Egyptian Supreme Council for Antiquities.
