This book compares learning to use computers with learning to drive. It is not aimed at those who consider themselves Tech People. But it really does its best to explain things for people who want to understand. You don't need to be able to type and it doesn't matter how old you are. It explains why you don't need to worry about breaking your computer, or about making mistakes: it suggests some things to do, and some people to ask, if you do have trouble. You don’t need to read it all: it is something of a reference book. Dip in and out. Use the Content list and the Index if you have a question. The biggest problem is getting you to start the journey. By all means do it in private, and practice until it feels okay. It may be a journey towards making contact with friends and family. Towards emails and video calls. Even towards videos of kittens. It may be towards The Internet - where you can find outermost anything about almost anything. Where you can shop. It may be towards the games you can play - on your own, or with like minded people all over the world. It may help with matters of education and employment. It may do all of those things.
