The book caters to the needs of students who enters the portals of Civil Engineering Department in the Second Year of UG programme. This book will help the students understand the basic principles of structural analysis, energy principles, and the analysis of statically determinate structures. A large number of numerical examples are given in each chapter which will allow the reader to have a complete grasp over the subject. Exercises from university and competitive examinations are worked out to allow a better understanding of the problems in a progressive manner. The examples are arranged in an orderly way for self-study. Each chapter can be read independently of others. Several numerical problems are given at the end of the chapters for practice.
