National Guidelines on Management and Control of Sickle Cell Disease

SCD has an immense impact in terms of premature mortality and low quality of life among SCD patients. Advances in the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of SCD have had a huge impact on the incidence and patients' health. However, timely development and implementation of cost-effective management strategies are vital to India. Much-needed guidelines for the management of SCD have been developed by the Indian College of Hematology (ICH) of the Indian Society of Hematology & Blood Transfusion (ISHBT) in collaboration with ICMR.
