Lawrence Beesley (31 December 1877 - 14 February 1967) was an English science teacher, journalist, and novelist who survived the RMS Titanic tragedy. Beesley attended Derby School, where he was a scholar, and Caius College, Cambridge, where he was again a scholar. In 1903, he graduated with honors from the Natural Science tripos. He began his career as a schoolmaster at Wirksworth Grammar School in Derbyshire before moving on to Dulwich College in south London as a science master. He was still the Principal of the Northwood School of Coaching in Northwood, Middlesex, in 1957.
