Acerca de los autores

Anindya Basu Roy is a B. Tech (Hons) from IIT Kharagpur. Subsequently, he did his MBA from the Indian Institute of Social Welfare and Business Management (IISWBM, Calcutta University) and his PhD in management from West Bengal University of Technology (WBUT, now known as Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal). His thesis is related to the mapping of managerial competency for the IT sector and developing a psychometric tool for assessing the competencies mapped. He has over 13 years of work experience in engineering,  management and consultancy, both in India and the United States―mostly working for the HCL group. For the last 13 years, he has been working  as an organization improvement consultant in South Asia. 

His consulting domain includes competency mapping, assessment and integration, KRA setting, performance management, HR analytics and organizational development. His clients include reputed private corporates and MNCs mostly in India and a few in SAARC countries. 

Dr Roy has authored and presented several papers related to competency in various HR forums and symposiums, and has a few publications to his credit. He has also been a visiting professor for the master of human resource management (MHRM) course at IISWBM for the last three years.

Sumati Ray is an MSc in applied psychology from Calcutta University. Subsequently, she did her PhD in applied psychology from Calcutta University.

She started her career with the Indian Institute of Psychometry in Kolkata. She rose to become the joint director for research and development at the institute. She was instrumental in designing several psychometric tests for employee selection.

Dr Ray subsequently switched to academics, and after having a stint with the Institute of Modern Management as a faculty, she joined IISWBM. As an academician, apart from teaching, she has been a prolific contributor to the cause of research. She has presented papers in different national and international conferences and published papers in different peer-reviewed journals.

Besides, she has been regularly supervising students for their PhD theses. Her areas of research interest include virtual teams and competency among others.

Apart from teaching and research, Dr Ray carries out HR consultancy work for a large number of organizations including private, public sector enterprises and government bodies.
