The book is written for an undergraduate course on the Network Synthesis and Filter Design. It provides comprehensive explanation of theory and practice of techniques of network synthesis and passive and active filter design. The book starts with explaining the various types of network functions, all pass functions, minimum phase functions, delay functions and ladder network. The chapter on fundamentals of network synthesis includes Hurwitz polynomial, properties of positive real functions and Sturm's theorem. The book covers the various aspects of one port network synthesis explaining the network synthesis of LC, RC, RL and RLC networks using Foster and Cauer forms. The book also includes the synthesis of transfer functions. The chapter on passive filter design includes the discussion of various filter approximations, magnitude and frequency normalization and frequency transformation.
