ABC van De Designpolitie is een dik, dynamisch boek waarin begrippen over de mentaliteit en ontwerphouding van de grafisch ontwerpers De Designpolitie op alfabetische volgorde worden geordend (zoals `Damn over mislukte projecten, of `Rocket Science over hun simpele, tegendraadse benadering).
De Designpolitie is bekend vanwege hun frisse, ogenschijnlijke simpele en directe ontwerpen en staan o.a. achter de visuele column Gorilla in Volkskrant. Het ABC is eerder een werk-, proces- of inspiratieboek dan een portfolio. Vele uitgevoerde en niet uitgevoerde projecten, ideeën, mislukkingen, fascinaties, foto s, beschouwingen en artikelen worden kleurrijk, met ironie, zelfspot én ernst gepresenteerd. 'Het grootste dilemma van ons vak blijft liggen in het gebonden karakter ervan. Tegelijkertijd is dat voor ons ook de meest aantrekkelijke kant ervan. Hoeveel lef en authenticiteit wil je behouden en hoever ga je om de opdrachtgever tegemoet te komen?'
