Grootmoeders en designers, traditie en innovatie, gaan hand in hand in het Europese project 'Grandma's Design'. In België, Finland, Italië, Nederland en Turkije werden in totaal meer dan 75 grootmoeders gefilmd en geïnterviewd terwijl ze een 'authentiek' bakrecept bereidden. Acerca del autor
Charlotte y Peter Fiell son dos autoridades en historia, teoría y crítica del diseño y han escrito más de sesenta libros sobre la materia, muchos de los cuales se han convertido en éxitos de ventas. También han impartido conferencias y cursos como profesores invitados, han comisariado exposiciones y asesorado a fabricantes, museos, salas de subastas y grandes coleccionistas privados de todo el mundo. Los Fiell han escrito numerosos libros para TASCHEN, entre los que se incluyen 1000 Chairs, Diseño del siglo XX, El diseño industrial de la A a la Z, Scandinavian Design y Diseño del siglo XXI.

Professionele food- en productdesigners, chefs en kunstenaars werden uitgenodigd om een nieuw concept te bedenken geïnspireerd op een van de klaargemaakte recepten. Designers uit de vijf landen kozen een grootmoeder uit, ontmoetten haar en creëerden samen met haar een nieuw 'bakconcept'. Dit kan een recept zijn, maar ook een verpakking of een voorwerp.
De mooiste, origineelste of meest vernieuwende resultaten van deze samenwerking tussen grootmoeders en designers werden verzameld in dit rijk geïllustreerd boek.
