With the advent of information technology, new and more flexible ways of working have been facilitated. A major contribution to flexible working is teleworking, in all its different forms. It offers new potential for regional development and interworking among groups of small and medium-sized enterprises in Europe and worldwide. This work covers representative European surveys on telework penetration, and European case studies on telework practice, with an analysis of the conditions for telework development in EC member states.
