If you want to (or have to) learn a language but don’t want to spend days on end, bored to tears, studying grammar and conjugating verbs, then this book is for you.
Ian, the author, wants you to enjoy learning your target language and his techniques ensure that you learn in the most natural, practical way, based on common sense and coupled with large doses of his unique British humour.
Ian helps you to break tasks down to manageable bite sized pieces that you are then motivated to complete. He teaches you how to avoid boredom and the desire to give up.
By using these techniques, Ian not only enjoyed the process of learning to speak a language but he was fluent within 6 months. He knows it works and he has written this book so that you can do it too.

Author, speaker and YouTuber, Ian Gibbs was born in Sheffield, England where his family was convinced that due to his shy, retiring nature he would never venture far from home. After doing his degree in Theoretical Physics, Astronomy and Astrophysics at St. Andrews, Scotland and his Postgrad in Education in Cambridge, he decided he’d had enough of the British weather and went to work in Barcelona for a year - or maybe two - to teach English. One day he woke up to realise he’s now been there for nearly 30 years, during which time he has set up one of Europe’s leading educational Theatre-in-English companies: IPA Productions, which has helped hundreds of thousands of children learn English. He now helps students of all ages by giving motivational talks and workshops about learning skills, in schools and colleges around Spain. When he is not speaking, he writes. He is the author of ‘The Sorites Principle: How to harness the power of perseverance (Guid Publications, 2016), available in English and Spanish, ‘Learning a Language: How I managed it. How you can, too’ (Guid Publications, 2018), 23 Tips to Learn Stuff Better (Guid Publications, 2018), available in English, Spanish and Catalan, and 23 Tips to Get Better Grades (Guid Publications, 2019). He is married, has two children and a bouncy dog.
