This book is intended as a textbook on 'Signals and Systems' for the students of electronics & communication engineering at the undergraduate level. It could be followed in all the engineering colleges where the subject usually forms part of the second year syllabus. In addition, it can serve well as a reference book too for clarifying concepts & furnishing more exercises while following simple books like Oppenheim, Willsky and Nawab's book. Apart from being written as a textbook, the nature of presentation of the material and problems is such that it will be useful for undergraduate students wanting to make a transition to postgraduate studies. Those with a bent of mind toward research will definitely find the problems in the book challenging and may even be able to formulate their own research problems along lines suggested by the exercises. There are several aspects in the book to motivate the student to read more advanced texts on the subject of signals. It is the author's belief that the book will receive positive response from the readers.
