THE existence of man in the modern age of science and technology, is becoming more and more mechanical and consequently he is exposed to constant tension and frustration. Dissatisfied with these unhappy conditions, serious minded people are asking the 'What is the place of the individual in the vast scheme of evolution? Is he destined to remain a mere plaything in the hands of evolutionary forces? Has he no creative role to play?' The aim of this book is to answer these fundamental questions in the light of the teachings of Theosophy and to explain that if the Universals describe the pattern of evolution it is the Unique or the Individual that reveals the purpose underlying the evolutionary growth.
