Sinopsis
(A manual of key to the exercises and 1 MP3 are attached to this book) This book is compiled for overseas students who are just beginning to study classical Chinese. There are 20 lessons altogether in this book, all of which were selected from the most classical works from the Pre-Qin to Ming and Qing Dynasties. The texts and supplementary reading materials are annotated in pinyin. Traditional Chinese characters, modern Chinese translation and English translation are provided for each text and the key words are annotated in Chinese and English. A number of sample sentences are used to explain the important grammatical points/ knowledge in classical Chinese. Simplified Chinese and English translations are provided to explain the cultural knowledge related to this lesson.

Introduction to Classical Chinese ist ein Einführungskurs in das klassische Chinesisch für Fortgeschrittene Chinesischlernende und enthält 20 Lektionen mit ausgewählten klassischen Texten, die aus der Vor-Qin-Ära bis hin zur Qing-Dynastie datieren. Die zumeist sehr bekannten klassischen Texte als auch die Ergänzungstexte werden zunächst in vereinfachten Schriftzeichen (Kurzzeichen) mit Pinyin-Umschrift, dann in traditionellen Schriftzeichen (Langzeichen) und schließlich in modernchinesischer und englischer Übersetzung präsentiert. Es folgen Vokabelanmerkungen mit Pinyin-Umschrift, chinesischer Erklärung und englischer Übersetzung. Introduction to Classical Chinese enthält zudem einen separaten Lösungsschlüssel, so dass die Übungen auch selbst kontrolliert werden können. Eine MP3-CD mit Höraufnahmen der klassischen Texte rundet den Lieferumfang ab.
