汉字是“天人合一，阴阳协调”的。以阴阳理论来解说唐代楷书的结构，每个汉字里面都包含着阴阳，上下结构的字是上阴下阳，左右结构的字是左阴右阳，内外结构的汉字是内阴外阳。作者岑秋生重新设计了书法练习格，方便读者在很短的时间内掌握书写规律。《智永真书千字文：岑氏书法阴阳格大字帖》是以智永真书千字文墨迹本为主体，配上岑氏书法阴阳格。因为年代久远，一部分字已经损坏，所以也附上关中本智永真书千字文，供学习研究参考。
