Sinopsis

This study focuses on: "The Issue of Women's Rights in Lega Customary Law in Light of Congolese Law: The Case of Inheritance." This work is of both theoretical and practical interest to us. Theoretically, this work provides information for students, lawyers, researchers, and anyone with an inquisitive mind. It is therefore a source of knowledge and information. On a practical level, we will gain an accurate and informed understanding of the extent to which women's rights are respected and protected among the Balega people of the Basile Chiefdom in particular and in the DRC in general. For the sake of clarity and convenience, we will define the scope of this study in terms of both time and space. With regard to time, our analysis will consider only the laws currently in force in the DRC. Geographically, we will examine how a widow's inheritance rights are protected in the DRC in general and among the Balega people of Basile in particular.
