The research carried out in this paper shows that the hypotheses formulated have been verified, confirming that human rights should be at the basis of responses to human trafficking; that human trafficking for the purpose of sexual exploitation of women and girls is more widely implemented than other forms of trafficking; that gender-specific measures are therefore applied to address human trafficking for sexual exploitation; and that the current detection and identification of child victims of human trafficking does not guarantee the comprehensive protection of the victims. There is still much to be done in terms of the protection of minors who are victims of human trafficking, both at the European level and in Spain.
