Syphilis remains a major global health problem despite effective treatment, requiring better understanding of its transmission dynamics. This study develops a sex-structured mathematical model that captures different infection stages, gender-specific progression, treatment, and reinfection. Analysis shows that while the disease can be controlled when the basic reproduction number ( ) is less than one, backward bifurcation means this alone may not ensure elimination. Sensitivity results highlight transmission rates as key drivers, while treatment and recovery reduce spread. Simulations indicate that combined strategies such as early diagnosis, high treatment coverage, partner notification, and behavioral changes can significantly reduce prevalence. Overall, effective control requires integrated, gender-inclusive interventions.
