Most road construction projects are completed with cost and time overruns, and out of quality and scope.The study was conducted through a survey using self-administered structured questionnaires administered to the respondents, interview and desk review. The study adopted mixed research approach as well as both quantitative and qualitative data are collected and therefore descriptive and inferential statistics was used to analyze the data. According to the findings there is a strong correlation between procurement processes and road projects performance. Specifically, bid floating time, individual procurement work plan and complaint handling are significantly affects the performance of road construction project as measured by time of completion and cost incurred, among other results. In addition to this bid evaluation, preparation of bidding documents, procurement plan and complaint handling are significantly affects the performance of road project as measured by quality. The government and other concerned agents should consider instruments needed to improve the procurement process, among other recommendations.
