Crossbred cows were screened and divided into two groups i.e. non-mastitis and clinical mastitis on the basis of history of animals. California Mastitis Test (CMT) and Somatic Cell Count (SCC) were done to explore the polymorphism in microsatellite markers and different fragments of TNF- gene. Five reported microsatellites were used to explore the genotypic relationship with mastitis. Amplification of TNF- gene was carried out for different gene fragments. SSCP patterns were visualized by silver staining to study the genotypes of each animal and differential expression profiling of TNF- gene revealed up-regulated expression in LPS induced condition as compared to un-induced condition.
