Nano science and nanotechnology is a broad and interdisciplinary area of research and developmental activity that has been growing explosively worldwide in the past few years. It has the potential for revolutionizing the ways in which materials and products are created and the range and nature of functionalities accessed. Most common nanoparticle synthesis methods frequentlyuse harsh chemicals such as hydrazine, dimethylformamide, and sodium borohydride and high temperatures which maypose biological hazards to the environment. On the contrary, honey mediated green synthesis requires relatively lowtemperatures and does notproduce any toxic products. This type of green synthesis methods can beused as an alternative for the currently used chemical andphysical synthesis methods. Furthermore, green synthesis ofnanoparticles using honey mediated methods demonstratedecofriendly, cost effective, time saving, and easy processingmethods, where honey acted as both reducing and stabilizingagents. Honey functionalized nanoparticles express specialactivities such as catalytic properties, anticorrosive activities, antimicrobial activity, and biosensing and bioimaging ability.
