In the present study Thrips, aphids, whiteflies, mites and fruit borer were found to be major insect pests of chilli. Moderate to high pest incidence was observed on chilli fields at all locations except scarcity zone during survey. However, aphids population was noticedin Parbhani, Hingoli and Nanded districts only.Chilli variety LCA-625 recorded resistant reaction to thrips, whiteflies, aphids, mites and moderately resistant to fruit borer and G-4 was found to be susceptible to all insect pests. In chilli hybrids, Arka Khyati and Sitara recorded low population of all majorinsect pests. Greengold recorded highest densities of these pests. An avoidable loss of 29.40 % was observed if crop was protected from majorpests of chilli. Among the molecules evaluated, spinosad 45 SC was found safer, eco-friendly,effective and economical treatment for the pest management in chilli. Among the modules evaluated, VNMKV IPM module was most effective in pest management and maximum yield, ICBR and net returns and also comparatively safer to natural enemies.
