Sinopsis

The book explains how pastoralist women can engage themselves in formulating income generating activities and utilizing their surroundings in order to increase household income. Many of the pastoralist habitats are of semi arid environment because of the environmental destruction done by their cultural habit of keeping large number of livestock. Employing the beekeeping activities seemed to be a conducive project in pastoralist community, because beekeeping can hardly interfere with other household chores. Capacity building ensures the sustainability of the formulated income generating activities. Author describe various challenges which face pastoralist women in running the income generating activities which need a prompt action to search for solution, including establishment of income generating activities to support household economy. The efforts to deconstruct social-cultural barriers to pastoralist women development will bring a promising future to the women contribution to the family economy.
