This book focus on the Doctoral Thesis that is about “Translanguaging as a strategic resource for the process of enculturation in Colombian Spanish language: Ethnographic study with foreign students and Colombian professors at Universidad Nacional de Colombia”. The study aims to study the use of translanguaging as a strategic resource in learning Spanish as a foreign language in a group of foreign students who study a semester at Universidad Nacional de Colombia, Bogota. This university was the place where the data was collected. In this research, translanguaging is defined as the dynamic and complex process of combining translation, code-switching and language switching, learning in a language other than mother tongue (Kano, 2012). The study agrees to consider that this phenomenon greatly influences the development in formal education of foreign language skills, in this case Spanish as a foreign language with its acronym in Spanish (ELE), and that influence also encompasses socio-cultural knowledge of learners. It is an ethnographic study, in which the data will be extracted naturally from the courses taken from Universidad Nacional de Colombia.
