9786202018135: Utilization of Mutation and Wide Hybridization to Fix Rice Heterosis

Sinopsis

Hybrid rice is known to yield 15-20% more than inbred lines. However the problem with the hybrids is the breaking down of yield after the first generation. Mutation, wide hybridization and transferring of gene from organisms containing apomixis would fix the heterosis. The main objective of this study was to fix heterosis. To achieve this goal, mutation using colchicine and wide hybridization with maize were applied.
