Helical antenna is one of the unique design antenna found by J. D. Kraus where the structure design has winding conductive wire and ground plane. The implementation of this project has produced a material detector using the helical antenna. A normal mode helical antenna is proposed operating at certain frequency and will be used as material detector by analyzing the frequency shifting and return loss, S11 of the antenna towards few different type of semisolid material.
