La shay’a aswadon bel kâmel - Tapa blanda

Sinopsis

Cemeteries are the backyards of life, fortresses of memory behind which loved ones disappear. Sons, fathers, children, elderly... they slipped like mercury from the hands of the novel's characters but remained haunted by them, checking on them every night, looking at them cautiously from the novel's windows, recalling with them fragments of their lives, and moments of light whose glow does not fade in absence. For these are the present absentees, those who gave them a reserve of light that illuminates what remains of their lives. In the end, death is not entirely death...
In 'Nothing Is Completely Black, ' we follow chapters from the biography of the heroine who experiences motherhood, love, and loss, and during which faces appear and others disappear. The memory of cities is present alongside that, specifically Homs, Paris, and Beirut. Beirut that closes in on its dead and burdens its children's memory with stamps that may be eternal. In this novel is a unique narrative experience, with which the reader will not fall into the trap of a traditional story, but will pass lightly between deep imaginations and different memories, confirming once again that life is a journey, existence is a passage, and being is greater than its condition.
